Cottons
I live in a hot climate. So hot that even mousselines in all their light weight cannot be worn. Thank heavens for Hermes cotton scarves and pareos! The smaller format cottons - sometimes 100% cotton, sometimes a cotton/silk blend - come from the men's section. (I do love me the men's section but somehow the powers that be in Paris have decided that men really like only a handful of colors. Discuss among yourselves.) The larger formats - pareos and stoles - come from the women's section. Sizes vary greatly so it's good to pay attention to dimensions. The pareos are sometimes adapted from a 90cm carre design, but many are original. And while the huge pareos - designed to be worn as beach cover-ups - have a lot of fabric to wrestle with, the cotton is breathable enough to wear even when the temperatures are above 90 F.
(If you see AMIM - that stands for "Ask Me, I Might" - I might be willing to part with a silk beauty. Drop me a note if you're interested, and check out that which I've already decided to re-home.)
