Jonathan Burton

Jonathan Burton has a distinct, playful illustrative style. For some reason I think of Lewis Carroll when I think of Burton's work, probably because Burton is British and uses a lot of tea imagery so I think of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

I do not like tea. This is partly because of a traumatic episode in my late-teens involving wisdom teeth removal; I'm happy to share the grisly details offline. Having lived in Texas the better part of 30 years (not quite sure how THAT happened) my aversion to tea is another reason people know I grew up elsewhere. Still, Texans love their iced tea ('sweet tea') which would probably offend any British sensibility.
