Texan Kermit Oliver is famously the sole American artist to design scarves for Hermes. His relationship with la maison was facilitated by another Texas icon: the Marcus family of Neiman Marcus. Originally issued in 1986 as a 90cm carre, nearly 30 years later it was re-issued in 70cm.

The centerpiece of the design is a large turkey but there are many more creatures native to the state including a howling wolf, wild mustang, cougar, deer.
