Elias Kafouros

Elias Kafouros makes me feel old and young all at the same time. I'm not quite old enough to be his mother, but close. Despite my curmudgeonly status, I adore his scarves. There is a density and depth of detail in every design; the designs all tell stories. And like many of my favorite artists, his work can have me mesmerized in a very Where's Waldo sort of way. Cheekily, most of the characters in his scarves are horsepeople (ok this can be kind of creepy). This is a hallmark of his designs for mens and womens scarves, but he's probably most appreciated for the Eleftheria women's scarf which is an ode to his home country of Greece.
