This Annie Faivre design first appeared in 1987, reissued in 1990 and 2000. I've seen it in gav and carre formats, as well as enamel bangles. What is a toran? It's an arched gateway that marks the entrance to Buddhist shrines or Hindu temples in India. They are often covered top to bottom with sculpture, and in typical Annie Faivre fashion she renders them with exquisite detail.

I love an intricate design, and Annie Faivre never disappoints. And it's always fun to search for her monkeys. She's got them here riding donkeys.
