HERMES 90CM PLEATED SILK SCARF - TOHU BOHU BY CLAUDIA STUHLHOFER MAYR
Tohu Bohu was issued in 2004 and instantly became a grail among scarf collectors. It features concentric circles, a vibrant border and contrasting hem, and callouts in each corner to the flagship address of 24 Faubourg.
What makes this particular Tohu Bohu noteworthy is its pleats. Hermes discontinued making pleated (plisse) scarves in 2012. The pleating adds compact texture and dimension to the traditional 90cm carre scarf. Because the pleating process reduces the width of the silk, tying the same knots as you would with a flat carre creates a different effect. Scarf title: Tohu Bohu Scarf designer: Claudia Stuhlhofer Mayr Size: appx 35” x 35” or 90cm square when stretched flat Material: 100% silk twill The background and hem are black, with a thin multi-color border. Interior colors include a dark red, orange, and purple. This plisse has been worn primarily with sides pulled through a scarf ring (as shown in the final photo). As a result there are some pleats that have lost their original shape at the outer edges. This rare scarf remains very wearable, there are no holes/stains/runs, the caretag is attached and it ships in its original round boutique box. SOLD Yes, I'm interested! |
