HERMES 140cm SILK MOUSSELINE SCARF/SHAWL - RENCONTRE OCEANE BY ANNIE FAIVRE
Annie Faivre is a scarf fan favorite for her intricate details and the monkey she hides in each design. One of her most popular designs is Rencontre Oceane, originally issued in 2001. A multitude of fish teem in the waters alongside anemones and coral, starfish and urchins. The pillars in the corners represent the Straight of Gibraltar, where Hercules is storied to have labored and where Plato considered the location of the lost city of Atlantis.
This black version was one of three colors reissued in a very limited number to commemorate the 2009 re-opening of the King of Prussia boutique. Size: appx 54” x 54” or 140cm x 140cm (GM or Grand Modele) Material: 100% silk mousseline The black background shows off bright pink and blue inner borders, with golden yellow pillars in each corner. The colors carry over in the teeming fish with the addition of greens in the center reef. This is in excellent condition and has been worn less than a handful of times. Given the delicate nature of silk mousseline there are a few slubs on the outer black edges - they do not appear in the colored interior. Caretag attached. SOLD |
