HERMES STRIPED COTTON PAREO
Once I realized pareos make wonderful scarves, I began a hunt for more than just the green Annie Faivre I bought 2 decades ago. My cotton muse pointed me to this gem, languishing on a resale site. I was intrigued - this would go with anything! I waited for the price to drop to bargoon-level, then brought this baby home. And it DOES go with anything!
It also opened my eyes to the different sizes Hermes uses for cottons. While most of my cottons are either ginormous or closer to 70cm, this is definitely a mid-size long rectangle. And unlike the cotton/silk blends which are delightfully soft, the pure cottons are super stiff; if not for their volume (or lack thereof) they would be fun to pleat. I've not yet tried with this one, but I'm inspiring myself to give it a whirl.
