Mamadou Cisse
Yay, another artist older than me: Mamadou Cisse was born in 1960 in Senegal. He always wanted to be an artist and moved to France as a teen to pursue his ambitions. As with many aspiring artists, finances interrupted the dream, and he spent nearly two full decades as a baker. Later, working as a security guard (!) he revisited his creative aspirations. His work gained attention when he was 47, and now his art has been exhibited throughout Europe and Africa. All his work I’ve seen online is cityscape-focused. He’s said he starts with a key building from a skyline and draws around it, ultimately zooming in on the urban landscape. I love his take on the Seattle skyline.
To my knowledge, Pantin City is the sole design Mamadou Cisse has created for Hermes.
