HERMES 45cm SILK SCARF and CASHMERE LOSANGE SCARF - FLAMBOYANT WEB by DAISKE NOMURA
If there's one thing I absolutely love, it's an Hermes scarf that has nothing to do with traditional equestrian or nautical themes. Daiske Nomura hit that mark with his first scarf, C'est La Fete, which featured the delightful Mr. Skeleton riding his skeleton horse into a Halloween party. While that design was a hit with men and women (later rereleased in a double face 90), Flamboyant Web stayed in the men's department. Not sure if it was the robot part or the spider part that didn't appeal across the divide, but it was enough of a hit to be issued in three formats: 100cm cashmere, cashmere losange, and 45cm silk pocket square.
I find the losange hard to style - you've got the bulk of the fabric in the middle with this skinny tails - and my preference would have been the marine but the naturel showed up on the secondary market at a great price so there you go. The gav was sourced from a stylish friend who shares a cheeky sensibility.
From the Hermes website:
Two robotic spiders blend tradition and innovation, weaving a web between equestrian objects. Whip handles, riding bits and harness buckles from the Emile Hermes museum have been transformed into curious futuristic objects.
