HERMES 45cm SILK SCARF - FLAMBOYANT WEB by DAISKE NOMURA
If there's one thing I absolutely love, it's an Hermes scarf that has nothing to do with traditional equestrian or nautical themes. Daiske Nomura hit that mark with his first scarf, C'est La Fete, which featured the delightful Mr. Skeleton riding his skeleton horse into a Halloween party. While that design was a hit with men and women (later re-issued in a double-faced 90cm scarf and a 140cm cashmere shawl), Flamboyant Web stayed in the men's department. Not sure if it was the robot part or the spider part that didn't appeal across the divide, but it was enough of a hit to be issued in three formats: 100cm cashmere, cashmere losange, and 45cm silk pocket square.
The gav was sourced from a stylish friend who shares a cheeky sensibility, I reluctantly re-homed a losange, and I still seek the 100cm marine cashmere.
From the Hermes website:
Two robotic spiders blend tradition and innovation, weaving a web between equestrian objects. Whip handles, riding bits and harness buckles from the Emile Hermes museum have been transformed into curious futuristic objects.
