HERMES 100cm CASHMERE SCARF - FERRY TALES
by ELIAS KAFOUROS

I grew up on an island in the Pacific Northwest. While my island was connected to Seattle by four-lane bridges, plenty of other islands were connected to Seattle by ferries. We took ferries when visitors were in town, or when we visited the San Juan Islands. We went to Canada often, taking the ferry between Victoria and Vancouver. There was an infamous family incident when my grandparents were in town: we were taking a ferry I can't remember where, and on the way back I decided to head down to the car level and hold the door for my family. Well, little did I know there were MANY stairwells to the car level, my family had no clue where I'd gone. So while I was annoyed at how long it was taking my family to come downstairs, they'd alerted the ferry staff their child was missing. Oops. All's well that ends well.

I have quite a few more ferry tales from my childhood, so when I saw this scarf with the car deck I knew I had to have it!

From the Hermes Story Behind:

Elias Kafouros has a way with words: all aboard on his Ferry Tales! The passengers on this boat heading for the Greek islands have without a doubt come in search of a dream. On every deck an air of peace prevails, a blend of salt and lazy holidays. Some are ready to disembark, others are enjoying their journey: While the path may be different for each passenger, the voyage of a lifetime awaits. The best is yet to come! Everyone waits excitedly for the opportunity to dive into the azure sea around them, with a big splash of freedom.
