HERMES 100cm CASHMERE SCARF - CHEVAUX DE LA COLLECTION
by ALEXANDRE BENJAMIN NAVET
I wish I could confront the colorists responsible for the mens scarf collection because they seem stuck on grey, blue, orange and brick red. There's just not a lot of color variations. Surely, men like color???
But then occasionally a flash of hot pink or yellow works its way into the season's offerings, and I can spot it from a mile away. Such was the case with Chevaux de la Collection. The dark blue (marine) is a guaranteed match for my complexion, and the pops of yellow and fuchsia just make me happy. I made a beeline for it the second I walked through the doors of the boutique.
I can't recall which 90 made its way into my bag instead of this; I have a hard time convincing myself to indulge in a cashmere since it's so freaking hot here most of the year. I was so excited when the weather turned cooler and I was blessed by a friend with similar proclivities who found herself wanting to rehome hers.
From the Hermes Story Behind:
When you step into the Emile Hermes collection, you enter a world where the horse is omnipresent; found on objects ranging from the most precious, essential and lightest to the most delightfully playful, surprising and cheerful. With his “horses from the collection” Alexandre Benjamin Navet evokes the spirit of this fantasy with his rapid, freehand lines in oil pastels. In this joyful medley we can see the Hermes family’s historic rocking horse, numerous representations of horses at a walk or gallop, as well as vases and glasses decorated with all sorts of equestrian scenes. A collector’s delight!
